HI Michelle, I don't know if we have communicated in the past. One group of my McMurray relatives moved to N.C. in 1758 from the Shenandoah Valley, Augusta Co., Va. Thomas McMurray, brother, I believe, of my McMurray ancestor was one of those who moved to N.C. He landed in Anson Co., N.C. in an area that eventually became a part of York Co., S.C. Thomas finally settled in Mecklenburg Co., N.C. but I haven't done much research on him. There is also John McMurray in York Co., S.C. He arrived there after the state line was settled between N.C. and S.C., probably in the late 1700's I'm told he came from Ulster through Charleston and settled in York Co., S.C.
