I am researching the line of James McMurry, b. about 1720 in Scotland, d. after 1788 in NC, wife unknown, at least two sons: Samuel, married Elizabeth Wilson, ended up in Person Co., NC, and John, married Elizabeth Mitchell, d. 7 Jul 1820 in Sumner Co., TN. My line goes from Samuel to son Charles who married Jannet Douglass - they died in Smith Co., TN. They had 12 children and my ancestor is their son James who married Emily Black in Smith Co. Sandra
