There is some info in your post which connects to the Rutherford Co. McMurrays. Don McMurray, a researcher from VA has established that some of the McMurray's who came to NC from VA with Thomas McMurray were his nephews. I think that William McMurray was one of these, but I must check my records further to be sure. The McMurrays did come to America from Ireland but at least two generations back from William and Samuel in Rutherford. I am going to check more on your info and see what I can turn up. You might want to locate Don McMurray at don@norrishouse.com and he can probably give you more info on the McMurray's from VA.
