    2. Don McMurray, in particular, has posted extensively on these McM's. You can find his postings on RootsWeb, GenForum, etc. The first Wm.'s wife was Agnes; his son Wm. - one of 5 sons - was m. to Mary. There is some confusion on the wives in some other postings, which confusion is cleared up by Don's postings. It might help you to make connections w/ "cousins" to post which son - or 1 dau. - you are descended from. Wilda McMurry

    1. [McMurry] McMary in Gibson Co., TN 1860
    2. In a very difficult to read census in the above, an especially difficult entry has been indexed as MCMARY. The family next door is a HILL family. Is this a McMurry? The initials appear to be L.F., and he'd appear to be twenty something in this 1860 census. Does anyone know who this is? There's a CANNON "lady" (widow lady?) in this "McMurry" household. Does anyone know the Hill family next door? There's another Hill family in the prior page, living in an apparent combined household with WRIGHT and SINCLAIR and another name I can't read, who might also be associated. You're looking for page 263b in this link, and the page before. Does anyone know who this group of people is? Origins include TN, NC, and one of the people, 29 yrs. old, was b. in AL. http://www.rootsweb.com/~tngibson/census/1860/CENSINDX.HTM Thanks, Wilda McMurry

    1. [McMurry] Eliza Jane McMurray
    2. Judy Hardy
    3. I'm looking for the parents of Eliza Jane McMurray born 3 Dec 1829 in PA. Her death record said her father's name was William and he was born in Scotland. Her mother was supposed to have been born in PA. She married Albert R. Patterson, date unknown. Her first child was listed on the 1850 census as John Q. Adams, born 1848 in PA. On subsequent census he was John Q. Patterson. I don't know if Adams was his last name by a previous marriage for Eliza or if Adams was part of his full name with him being the son of Albert Patterson. As I have not been able to locate a marriage record for Albert and Eliza and all other attempts to discover who her parents were have been met with a brick wall, I'm hoping someone might have her listed in their family genealogy.
