    3. Any possibility of connecting to this line? Mary Ann (Polly) McMurry (b. 28 Nov 1803 TN, d. 11 Mar 1865 Upshur county, TX) m. 7 Oct 1824 Dickson County, TN to Lemuel READ. Family tradition says came from Ireland at age 3 - raised by brother when parents died. 1850 census: age 44 1860 census: age 57. I believe her to be the daughter of Thomas McMurry and Agnes or Nancy Flack. I found court records that show her as a minor orphan 2 Oct 1820 - Robert McMurry guardian. In the same court record: Cynthia McMurry minor orphan 2 Oct 1820 - James McMurry guardian; Sally and Washington McMurry minor orphans 2 Oct 1820 - William McMurry guardian. Are guardians older siblings or uncles? Can anyone help? Florence H. King fking@pipeline.com

The Wilkerson's of Rutherford County, NC. In 1812, Sarah Wilkerson, 12 yrs old, orphan daughter of Mary/Polly Wilkerson. Was bound to Margaret McMurry. This is in the Pleas and Quarter sessions. I could not find Sarah's family and I could not find mention of her, until finding this in the court records. Someone looked in the Bastardy bonds and found William McMurry in Jan or April of 1800, being charged with bastardy. It did not mention the woman involved. I am thinking this William is William and Margaret McMurry's son. I am wondering if Sarah was the daughter of William and she was bound to her grandmother , Margaret. In William McMurry's will dated 19th day of August , 1811. It mentions a Sarah. I wonder if this is MY Sarah, and William listed her as one of his children???

Isabelle married Smith James and lived in Barren county, KY from about 1830-1854; she was born about 1808. She likely had brothers (or possibly first cousins) named William H., John Green, and Thomas McMurry. All these McMurrys were born in NC and lived in TN and AL before moving to KY.
