I am looking for traces of my grandfather who was one of the seven children of Edward McLoughlin b. 1866 and Jane Garton b. 1867. Edward was a blacksmith who worked for a while on the Chatsworth estate. Jane's parents were Alfred, a quarryman, and Martha. My mother, Fred's daughter, is sure he was born in Duffield, but the registry office there cannot find his birth certificate. Any ideas would be appreciated.
