At one time i worked with this names and locations so much that I had the info memorized but for the last year or so I've kind of put genealogy on the back burner. You go up towards Marcy - on Glass Factory Rd. you come to Luke Rd - go farther and you come to Combs Rd. - Turn left on Combs Rd. and part of the way and on the left you see a Rd called Hughes Rd. (A dead end) .... Hughes Rd. didn't used to dead end - it once went all the way down to Luke Rd. When Hughes Rd. Ends - you keep walking and you down a hill and over a creek - and then up a hill. Along the right at that point the Perry O'Neil Family once lived - just prior to his house once lived the James O'Neil family (his wife was a Butler) He was the son of Perry O'Neil. In the 1850 Census Margaret Fitzsimons is living with Perry O'Neil - she is his grand daughter. Perry O'Neil died around 1863 I think (it's on the stone) ... his daughter Johanna married a McDonald and they kept the family farm and lived there until about 1900. Next door to Perry O'Neil was a McGlauchlin family - Peter and Bridget perhaps. Since there are other Bridgets in the family - I've often wondered if there was some relation ship between these two families. My grandmother wrote down all that she could remember of her family history about 1964. My grand mother is the daughter of Margaret Fitzsimmons -mentioned above. In some cases - Fitzsimmons died when my grandmother was fairly young. In here accounting of the family - which she learned from her cousins etc... she sometimes just wrote surnames - because she knew they were related or important but didn't know why or couldn't remember the details. Oddly enough I have never known her stories as wild as they seemed - to not be true when i found out the truth. So - McLaughlin is a name she wrote - which I have never figured out what she meant or how it's connected but I have no reason to believe that some how that surname is not related to her some how. There is a precede! nt for other family to be living near him - they congregated together. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
