Born in Ireland November 1848 (per 1900 census), Joseph (a plumber) married Mary O'Neill (born Sept 1855 in NY). Children: Mary (Jan 1876-1908, died in NYC of some sort of seizure) Gertrude (Oct 1885?- ) Anna (Jan 1886-30 Aug 1938) Reverend Mother Cephas- Ursuline order of New Rochelle Helen M. (Nellie) (June 1881 - ) school principal Joseph (Jan 1892-1948) Anita V. (July 15, 1894- ) teacher Death notice in NY Herald states that Joseph H.'s mother Ellen died on 11 Mar 1885 at her son's residence in Mamaroneck at the age of 74 and her body was interred in New Rochelle Cemetery. Does anyone have info on these McLoughlins? I'm trying to determine if Ellen was Ellen Heslin of County Longford, if Joseph H. was the brother of William McLoughlin (1847-1920) who also lived in Westchester County, and the names of any other siblings. I am looking for a James McLoughlin from Ireland who married a Mary McCullock (I think, and the spelling could be wrong). They had at least two children - Kenneth Peter McLoughlin b in County Tyrone in 1860 and Charles born in Omagh County Tyrone (I think) in 1865. They moved to Australia, in time to meet their wives and have children, with the first of their children to be born in Australia approx 1893 (or perhaps a couple of years earlier). I know they had siblings that moved to America, but I'm unsure of any of their details, including names. I'm wondering if my James is your James? I am stuck with these 3 men and can't seem to find anything further on any of them - I would love to know their siblings details, and their parents such as if I am on the right track with Mary McCullock, and also any further details on James. Do any of my names and dates look familiar to you? I would love to hear from you and I appreciate your time! Merry Christmas, Rebecca Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. James McLoughlin and Mary McCullock had Peter McLoughlin in 1861. He migrated to Australia with his brother (unknown name) in late 1800's. Peter married Rebecca Jane Robinson in 1894 in Tibooburra, New South Wales Australia. I am interested to find out any details about James and Mary, and any siblings that Peter may have had (including the brother he migrated with). I know of Peters line through his son Owen William McLaughlin (there seems to have been a change of spelling in the name once in Australia). Also interested in any ship details from when Peter arrived in Australia. Am fairly new to all this family tree business and seem to have come to a stop at where to look next. Have obtained some info, but don't have any idea where to get more! Any help would be appreciated!! Thanks! Bec Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. I have information on his Owen William but would like further information on any other children too. I know that he migrated to Australia from Ireland with a brother (name unknown) and this was late 1800's. I know he married Rebecca Jane Robinson in Australia and his parents were James McLoughlin and Mary McCullock. The spelling of McLoughlin has changed to McLaughlin once in Australia eventually. Any information would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks, Bec Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. At one time i worked with this names and locations so much that I had the info memorized but for the last year or so I've kind of put genealogy on the back burner. You go up towards Marcy - on Glass Factory Rd. you come to Luke Rd - go farther and you come to Combs Rd. - Turn left on Combs Rd. and part of the way and on the left you see a Rd called Hughes Rd. (A dead end) .... Hughes Rd. didn't used to dead end - it once went all the way down to Luke Rd. When Hughes Rd. Ends - you keep walking and you down a hill and over a creek - and then up a hill. Along the right at that point the Perry O'Neil Family once lived - just prior to his house once lived the James O'Neil family (his wife was a Butler) He was the son of Perry O'Neil. In the 1850 Census Margaret Fitzsimons is living with Perry O'Neil - she is his grand daughter. Perry O'Neil died around 1863 I think (it's on the stone) ... his daughter Johanna married a McDonald and they kept the family farm and lived there until about 1900. Next door to Perry O'Neil was a McGlauchlin family - Peter and Bridget perhaps. Since there are other Bridgets in the family - I've often wondered if there was some relation ship between these two families. My grandmother wrote down all that she could remember of her family history about 1964. My grand mother is the daughter of Margaret Fitzsimmons -mentioned above. In some cases - Fitzsimmons died when my grandmother was fairly young. In here accounting of the family - which she learned from her cousins etc... she sometimes just wrote surnames - because she knew they were related or important but didn't know why or couldn't remember the details. Oddly enough I have never known her stories as wild as they seemed - to not be true when i found out the truth. So - McLaughlin is a name she wrote - which I have never figured out what she meant or how it's connected but I have no reason to believe that some how that surname is not related to her some how. There is a precede! nt for other family to be living near him - they congregated together. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. She was born abt 1875 in Drogheda Co. Louth Ireland. She married James Hanlon in 1898 in Drogheda and had five children, Joseph 1899. Anna Mary 1902, Matthew 1904, James 1907 and Josephine 1910. In the 1911 census she is living at 17 North Strand, Drogheda, with her husband and family. She died the following year. Her husband James was later to emigrate to the US with their eldest two boys, leaving the other three children to be brought up by her sister-in-law Mary Garvey. Her father's name is unknown, but it is possible that her Mother's name was Anne and she had at least two other siblings, Elizabeth and Laurence, this however is only surmise, as I have found this family living only a few doors way in both the 1901 and 1911 census. Mary Kate is my Gt Grandmother, and as the family appears to have scattered after her death we know very little. Any information will be greatly appreciated.
