    1. [MCINTYRE] Our McIntyres..
    2. Peter McEntyre
    3. Just a reminder to you all that when studying or looking for ancestors with this name please keep in mind that the spelling varies a lot from generation to generation, country to country. I wasted the first 2 years of my research insisting that our family was McEntyre and McEntyre only. I have proof that it changed from McEntyre to McIntyre and back to McEntyre, I now believe that it must have originally been McIntyre before it became McEntyre. In the States the 'y' is usually replaced with an 'i'. McIntire and not McIntyre. >From Scotland to any country the Mac seems to change to Mc. So please keep an open mind and don't be stubborn about your origins. My father would argue with many people when I was young. 'E' not 'I'. I even had a trophy engraved 'McI' by my school which was a bit of a dent in the old pride. Now a little older and a little wiser. I feel like I should change my name back to McI sometimes. But then I could be bold and change it back to the original Gaelic 'Mac An t-Saoir' Best of luck in this riddle of a name and this riddle of a hobby. I seem to be getting no where.
