Have any of you ever had "older" relatives that complained that they were being driven to the poorhouse by the spending of others in their family? Well, this site has shown up on another mailing list that I belong to and has some very interesting information. http://www.poorhousestory.com/ There are a lot of situations that we with all our modern riches aren't aware of that family could have been placed into a poorhouse - things were pretty rough back then.
