    3. I trace my McIntosh line back to Nether Lorn in Argyllshire to the beginning of existing church records in the area, around 1750. These are a Duncan McIntosh (cooper) and a Mary Graham. At other times Duncan is also described as a lint dresser or a crofter. As McIntosh is not a name from Nether Lorn, or indeed Argyllshire it is quite possible that they were incomers to the area in that period. OPR records show Duncan McIntosh as being a resident in Kilninver parish. Certainly the family then lived on the border of Kilbrandon and Kilninver parishes as most records show them living in either Clachan Kilninver or in Oban-Seil. There are few other records of McIntoshs in the area at that time so it might be helpful for me to put a trawl on these too in the vague hope of making a connection. The most likely connection, if any, is from film number 76-294-3063. which shows : Alls's McIntosh of Caddleton / Katherine Graham in Kilbrandon having the following children John McIntosh 23 Jan 1785 Margaret McIntosh 10 Apr 1787 William McIntosh 28June 1791 ( and here the fathers name is just given as Tosh) also in 1776 John McIntosh / Anne McIntyre had a child Anne in Collipool Kilbrandon and Kilchatten My own line reads as follows: Duncan McIntosh / Mary Graham Ann - June 2 1777 Oban Seil Kilbrandon Dugald- Apr 15 1784 Oban-Seil Duncan-Dec 22 1786 John -Aug 22 1789 Margaret- Dec 22 1796 Hugh- 6 Oct 1801 There is then the possibility that it was two McIntosh brothers ( Alex and Duncan ) who married two Graham sisters (Katherine and Mary) I would be particularly interested in any researching Graham who married into the McIntosh's in that period. - Duncan
