I wanted to send the last few items which I have thru just in case there is someone else in need of this info. 1989 material in a file in Greene Room Letter from Rebecca McIntosh Keith to the Probate Court requesting info on "my great great grandfather William McIntosh who married Lora (Lara, Lauea) Parker in Greene Co. Ohio in 1822 and later married Ellen J. Downey in 1851" Archives - Marriage Jan 8 1850 No. 10 William McIntosh and Ellen J. Downey His affidavit on record. He is about 50 yrs of age and she about 40 Rebecca Keith also wrote the Greene County Library about John Parker McIntosh who graduated from Antioch Colleg in 1861. She supplied the following info that she had: William McIntosh - supposedly resident of Xenia, OH Family oral history says he was in War of 1812 and Blackhawk War. John Parker McIntosh, son of Wm --1 brother known is Martin McIntosh, born 1824 in ohio married 11 April 1865 to Julia Barwise Collins (1840-1918). . . they had two sons James and Charles with a daughter died in infancy. Julia had 2 brothers James B & Culbertson P. There was more with the education etc. but the librarian wrote back saying "I could not find anything that specifically said that John was the son of William. William's estate packet only referred to his widow, and since he did not leave a will that makes things harder." She goes on to warn about the need to prove the right line. I have copies of the estate info. Ellen Jane McIntosh and Samuel Morgan ask to be appointed administrators of the estate of William McIntosh late of Greene County, deceased. Personal estate $414.00. No real estate. Sureties were Aaron Paxson and Adam Routsong and suggest George Smalty, Ebenezer Steel and Andrew Wall as appraisers. Signed Ellen J. McIntosh and Samuel Morgan. (Mark on Ellen signature as she could not write) signed 15th day of June 1870 (printed 69 marked out and 70 inserted) Probate Judge J W ____ L. M ____ clerk.
