Robert names his father as John Ewen (deceased) in 1901 at the time of his marriage to Helen Park. Robert was my G Grandfather and talked of being the 7th son. He in turn produced 7 sons, my grandfather being the 7th. I am trying to prove/disprove the 7th son of a 7th son story. Robert had at least 2 siblings that I know of - Jane b 1880 and Isabella b 1873 - both have a similar statement regarding the father on their birth registrations.
