To my knowledge, Nancy Murphy's parents are unknown. Nancy Murphy b1760 NC d1843 married 1788 Caswell Co NC Nimrod McIntosh b1761 Culpeper Co VA d1844. Nancy and Nimrod were buried in Robertson Co TN. Several Murphy and Murphey families in Caswell Co. NC included women named "Nancy" in the late 1700s. Did any Murphy migrations to Caswell originate in Culpeper? It's probably coincidence, but another Murphy grave is only a few miles north in adjoining Logan Co. KY. Yesterday, I visited the grave of Mary Murphy b1796 Culpeper Co VA d1855. Apparently, Mary's parents were John Murphy and Nancy Ransome. Mary Riley married abt. 1819 Dr. Johnathon Riley b10 Aug 1799 SC d30 Oct 1881. Mary and Johnathon were buried in a rural area of Logan Co. KY just north of the KY/TN State Line. (I have photos if anyone's interested). Any information regarding Nancy Murphy's family or possible connections between these individuals will be appreciated. Comments and corrections are welcome.
