Hi all, I am new to the list. I believe I descend from Peter McIntosh (b. 1760 or 1746 in Scotland) m. Margaret "Peggy" Turner, but am still trying to confirm. Any info appreciated on this line appreciated. My grandfather was Jeremiah "Jerry" McIntosh from Perry County , KY. As far as James Fugate McIntosh, I know there were a lot of Fugates in the Perry, Harlan and Breathitt Co, KY area. I have a William McIntosh m. to Francis Fugate and am just wondering if the "Fugate" for James could be a mother's maiden name? Don't have any of the children of this couple except a Henley McIntosh. I am getting mixed messages - Think his given name may have been James Fugate McIntosh possibly, but he's always referred to as Fugate. It's very confusing...But I'm always willing to read whatever anyone has to say. I do have record of a child named Mahalia or Mahala. She is in the Family Bible as Mahalia and would be my 3X great grandmother. Thank you again! ============================== Search the US Census Collection.
