It clearly shows that Nimrod had a son named Jesse McIntosh! This Will is copied from an earlier posting on these message boards by Barbra Pollack on 03 May 2000 ___________________________________________________________ The Will of Nimrod McIntosh Author: Barbra Pollack <http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec Date: 3 May 2000 12:00 PM GMT Surnames: McIntosh, Hobbs, Cunningham, Wallace Classification: Will ___________________________________________________________ Last Will of Nimrod McIntosh In the name of God, Amen, I, Nimrod McIntosh of Robertson County, State of Tennessee, do make and publish this, my last Will and Testament, hereby revoking all and every former Will or Wills by me. First, I desire that all my just debts shall be paid by my executor. Second, I desire that all my land and personal property (negroes excepted), shall be sold and the proceeds thereof, after paying my debts, be divided as follows: One share to my son John McIntosh and one share to my son William McIntosh, One share to the children of my daughter, Phoebe Browning, now deceased, and former wife of Caleb Browning, One share to my son JESSE MCINTOSH, One share to my daughter, Celia Benton (wife of Thomas Benton) with the restriction hereafter mentioned, One share to the children of my daughter Milberry Browning, formerly wife of Spencer Browning, One share to the children of my daughter Lucinda Haggard, now deceased and formerly the wife of William H. Haggard, and One share to my son Presley McIntosh. Then, I desire that all my negroes be divided into eight equal shares and distributed in manner aforesaid as my other estate, only that part of my estate, and that all that portion be distributed to my daughter, Celia Benton shall only be loaned to her for her separate use and support and maintenance during her natural life, and her death to be equally distributed to her children. Her husband, Thomas J. Benton to exercise no control over the same, only as she shall choose to suffer him to do for her support and benefit. And the property given to the children of my daughter Lucinda Haggard shall not be under the control of William H. Haggard, but shall be placed in the Grant of a suitable Guardian to be appointed by the County Court until they shall become of legal age. And in the division of my estate directed as aforesaid, it is my express desire that any child who has received a negro heretofore from me shall account for the value of the same so as to make the others equal with those who have received this division was made. That is, my sons John and William and daughter Celia for her lifetime, and afterward go to her children. Lastly, I hereby appoint my friend, Gen'l Richard Cheatham the executor of this my Last Will and Testament. Witness whereof, I have set my hand and seal this Sep. 7, 1844. Edward S.
