Sept Court 1815 will of Benjamin McIntosh presented for probate Johnson County, Illinois. Wife Frances, Dau Betsy, children Unity, Ceny, Stacy, sons Benjamin, Joshua, and Charles. (FHL Film # 1316478 Johnson IL Commissioners Reports) Benjamin is believed to be a brother to John, Thomas, Charles & Nimrod McIntosh. of Robertson TN and who appears in IL records in 1807. In Oct 1823 an heir of Benjamin vs John Stokes & wife, administrators of Benjamin’s estate, dropped the suit. They had been waiting for a deposition from Nimrod McIntosh of Robertson, TN Dec. Term 1844 Nimrod McIntosh’s will was presented for probate Robertson County. Sons John, William, & Anderson. Dau Phebe Browning (decd) formerly wife of Caleb Browning, Son Jesse McIntosh, Dau Celia Benton wife of Thomas J. Benton, Dau Milberry Browning formerly the spouse of Spencer Browning, dau Susanna Haggard decd. & formerly the wife of William H. Haggard, and son Presley. (FHL Film # 425201 Robertson TN Wills Bk 12 pg 248 1761 Nimrod McIntosh born (Robertson TN Cemetery Records) perhaps in Culpeper VA where his brothers Thomas and Charles stated they were born, in their applications for Revolutionary War Pensions Nimrod and Nancy are buried in a McIntosh Cemetery in Robertson Co. TN. Turn off highway 41--first road past Growers Tobacco Warehouse. Follow this road about 1 mile. The cemetery is located on the left about 200 yards from the road. In June of 2000 the cemetery was in a small grove of trees in a wheat field. ( Some family researchers think this may be the brother of our Peter McIntosh.) More than likely it is his first cousin; Alexander's son. In 1810 Peter's brother's,Nimrod & William are living beside Peter in Clay Co. Ky. IN 1810 Peter's son's Nimrod b.1801 & William would have been still pretty young, so would have been living with Peter & Margaret)
