It looks like we do not connect at this stage. We went back to the "Birth" area in Kirkmichael and the Church Cemetery was 95% McIntoshs'. Photos were taken of all the visible Stones. It is quite possible that some of our earlier (pre 1800)McIntosh's from the area could have travelled to the outside world, but we are aware that they were basically Farm workers and did not have the financial ability to move from Perthshire area until the Government gave them Ten Pounds to get a Boat Fare to the "New World". It makes sense to travel to Nova Scotia as a first stop. Hard to imagine what the conditions of travel in a Sailing Ship would be like in 1840's for a ten pound fare!!
