    1. Sons of Charles McIntosh (1746 Petty, INV) to Nova Scotia
    2. Ben MacDonald
    3. I am looking for information on a daughter (Ann) of David McIntosh, son of Charles McIntosh (of Petty) and Isobel Ross (of Fort George). Charles and family initially settled in Kings Co before re-settling in Pictou Co. Unless a record is found showing Anne as a daughter of David McIntosh, the Jan 1920 RH Ward article on the "Farms and Farmers of the East River" is apparently in error when it says that Anne was the dau of "David McIntosh of Sunny Brea" I have an Anne McIntosh of the East River-Upper Settlement who m. John 'Mor' McDonald in Dec 1823, but I have hit a brick wall in trying to locate Anne's parents. Pictou census records of 1871, 1881, & 1891 show Ann (McIntosh's) year of birth abt 1804, although she is shown on these census reports as "Nancy" McDonald (Ann & Nancy are considered 'switchable' names) * I have been told that a brother of David McIntosh, Duncan, had a daughter Ann, and that Duncan died at a young age. His wife was Mary Chisholm, but there is no other information on what happened to that Ann. There were supposedly 3 sons to Duncan McIntosh and Mary Chisholm: Charles, Duncan,& Donald Regards, Ben MacDonald Glendale, Arizona

    1. Fwd: Save our archives -- sign the petition, please!
    2. Carolyn Clark
    3. The following e-mail is of great concern to any genealogists who use archives. Please read, sign the petition, then send this to any other Rootsweb or genealogy lists you're on. The President's budget recommendations for Fiscal Year 2006 slash or eliminate more than 150 federal programs. In that budget, the National Historical Publications and Records Commission (NHPRC) has been targeted to receive NO funding. This includes no funds for the grants program and no funds for staffing to support the NHPRC programs. It effectively eliminates NHPRC. The Council of State Historical Records Coordinators, the Society of American Archivists, and the National Association for Government Archivists and Records Administrators are working collaboratively to address this threat to NHPRC and NARA. Archivists across the U.S. are rallying to save NHPRC while also ensuring that NARA has sufficient funding to sustain its current programs and continue to advance in areas that benefit all archival repositories and every citizen of the United States. As part of our efforts to continue to express to Congress interest in restoration of funding for NHPRC, we have created an online petition. Please consider signing this petition, and please forward it to any listservs, e-mail groups, or organizations and people you feel would be interested in helping with this effort. It is a quick and easy way for many people to assist. The petition will be forwarded to the House Appropriations Committee and Subcommittee on Treasury, Transportation, HUD and the Judiciary in late May. The petition can be access at: _www.savearchives.org_ (http://www.savearchives.org/) Click on the "petition" button. If you have not received a previous action alert on this issue, we encourage you to also write a letter to your members of Congress. He died June 11, 1988 in MO.. But I am trying to located my great-grandfather who lived in the OK Territory, William or Owen McIntosh. He married a Cheyenne Princess, name unknown, and had a son, William Owen McIntosh, my grandfather was was born in O.T. around 1890, and they also had a daughter, Ida? Their mother died and my gg remarried another indian. My gg was supposedly a US Marshall living around around Coffeeville, KS at the time of the Dalton Boys. He also worked for one of the Railroads, and was also a Pinkerton man. My grandfather married Louise Fernow. They lived in Louisville, KY and had 4 sons-- Owen, Kenneth, Oscar Keith (my father), and William (Billy). Owen had 2 daughters, Kenneth had 2 sons Randy and Rusty, my dad just had me, Billy had 2 sons Bill Norman, and Keith Allen. I know next to nothing about my dad's family, and we've all drifted apart, but I do know we have Native American blood in us, but I'm not sure if we are related to Chief McIntosh or not, or how long my Scottish s! ide of the family has been in America. If anyone can help me just email me. Thanks. Vickey Ann McIntosh Brickle
