    1. McIntosh/Graham
    2. Duncan McIntosh
    3. I trace my McIntosh line back to Nether Lorn in Argyllshire to the beginning of existing church records in the area, around 1750. These are a Duncan McIntosh (cooper) and a Mary Graham. At other times Duncan is also described as a lint dresser or a crofter. As McIntosh is not a name from Nether Lorn, or indeed Argyllshire it is quite possible that they were incomers to the area in that period. OPR records show Duncan McIntosh as being a resident in Kilninver parish. Certainly the family then lived on the border of Kilbrandon and Kilninver parishes as most records show them living in either Clachan Kilninver or in Oban-Seil. There are few other records of McIntoshs in the area at that time so it might be helpful for me to put a trawl on these too in the vague hope of making a connection. The most likely connection, if any, is from film number 76-294-3063. which shows : Alls's McIntosh of Caddleton / Katherine Graham in Kilbrandon having the following children John McIntosh 23 Jan 1785 Margaret McIntosh 10 Apr 1787 William McIntosh 28June 1791 ( and here the fathers name is just given as Tosh) also in 1776 John McIntosh / Anne McIntyre had a child Anne in Collipool Kilbrandon and Kilchatten My own line reads as follows: Duncan McIntosh / Mary Graham Ann - June 2 1777 Oban Seil Kilbrandon Dugald- Apr 15 1784 Oban-Seil Duncan-Dec 22 1786 John -Aug 22 1789 Margaret- Dec 22 1796 Hugh- 6 Oct 1801 There is then the possibility that it was two McIntosh brothers ( Alex and Duncan ) who married two Graham sisters (Katherine and Mary) I would be particularly interested in any researching Graham who married into the McIntosh's in that period. - Duncan

I have been having trouble. The only bit of information that I have been able to find is a marriage record for John Hunter McIntosh and Pearl Sena Schiffmann. (b. 1882) They were married in 1899. On the same day, interestingly enough, John's sister, Jeannette and Pearl's brother Ben got married as well. I have not been able to find a birth certificate for Pearl Schiffmann, not have a been able to find a birth certificate for her children, Thomas Hunter McIntosh, b. April 1899, Tracy Vernon McIntosh, b. July 1902. I only have a delayed birth certificate for my grandmother, Vera Elizabeth McIntosh, b July 23, 1902. I know that John Hunter McIntoshes parents were Henry Hunter McIntosh and Rachel Muir. I need some serious help with this line. Info has trickled to me excruciatingly slow. If you could find any info on these lines, the Schiffmans and the McIntoshes, I would be greatful. Pearls parents were Benjamin Schiffman and Margaret Elizabeth Manigold (Mandigold). These families could have been in Chapman, Oak Hill, Oakland. I would be happy to reimburse you for any copies of information that you locate. I would be appreciative of any help you could send my way. Dawn Edens

    3. Sorry, the last section should have said "1804", not 1894 Regards, Ben MacDonald Glendale, Arizona -----Original Message----- From: Ben MacDonald [mailto:macdonab@cox.net] Sent: Wednesday, March 08, 2006 10:40 PM To: MCINTOSH-L@rootsweb.com Subject: [MCINTOSH] McIntosh - Pictou County abt 1785, Charles McIntosh (b. Petty INV 1746) and wife Isobel Ross (of Fort George INV) emigrated from Inverness-shire to Kings County Nova Scotia, bringing with them several sons and daughters. A few years later they moved from Kings County to the East River area of Pictou County to be among other Gaelic speaking Scots in the area of what is today Sunny Brea These are the McIntosh children and their marriages as I have them, and they may not be correct Duncan MACINTOSH & Mary CHISHOLM (1789 - ) Donald MACINTOSH & Ann FALCONER Hugh MACINTOSH & Isabell CHISHOLM (1789 - ) Isobel MACINTOSH & Alasdair MACDONALD Mary MACINTOSH & James FRASER Margaret MACINTOSH & Donald CAMERON (1775 - 1839) Elizabeth MACINTOSH (1789 - 1876) & Roderick MACKAY (1785 - 19 Dec 1877) Mona Sally MACINTOSH (1811 - 1858) & Joseph MACKAY David MACINTOSH & Christie CHISHOLM I am interested in hearing from anyone who has detailed information on this McIntosh family I am trying to unravel a personal family mystery about the children of Duncan and Mary, and the possibility that Duncan had a daughter named Anne, born in 1804, who might have been raised in Sunny Brea by Duncan's brother David, after Duncan died I have an Anne (Nancy) McIntosh, born in 1804, who married John McDonald of Bridgeville. Anne died in 1892 at age 88. In Jan 1920, an R.H. Ward article on East River Farms & Farmers (incorrectly) reported that Ann was a daughter of David McIntosh of Sunny Brea. This does not appear to have been possible as David married Christie after Anne was born I am still looking for some proof of whom her real parents were/are. Was there possibly another David McIntosh living in Sunny Brea in 1894 who could have been her father? Regards, Ben MacDonald Glendale, Arizona ============================== New!
