I only know for sure my Great Grandmother's name but not her parents - YET :-) I and a few other Rankin cousins believe there is a connection to an Isabella McIntosh who married another one of the Rankin sons. When she died he then married Ellen/Helen McIntosh who we believe was also a sister but have not been able to prove anything for sure. I would love to correspond with you and see if we can connect any of our dots. Email me at lynn-cunningham@redwoods.edu. Thanks -

Inside the case was a newspaper clipping. on the clipping is the death notice for Eliza Galt McIntosh. This is what the clipping says "Births. At Ormstown, on 22nd inst., the wife of Mr. Charles Lucas, of twin sons. On the 23rd instant, at Hinchinbrook, the wife of Charles McHardy, of a son. Under Deaths. At Waseca, Minn., on the 14th inst., of measles, Eliza Galt MC INTOSH, youngest daughter of the late Capt. James McINTOSH, aged 20 years. At Summerstown, on the 17th inst., in the 69th year of his age, Rev. James Y. Cameron, late of the Presbyterian College, Montreal, father of Dr. Cameron, of Montreal, and formerly of Howick. At Durham, on the 24th inst., of diabetes, Mrs. Dugald Thompson, aged 57." There are no dates. This must have been a monthly publication. I have tried to research some of these people, and though I am not sure, I think it is from April 1883 If you would like a copy of the original I can email it to you. Write me at Deniseo6@Charter.net or post a message here.

    3. Can anyone supply me with the genealogy for the 1st 4 generation of this East River, Pictou, McIntosh family? I had it once before but it was "lost" in a hard drive crash 8 months ago I am most interested in any information on son Duncan McIntosh who reportedly married a Mary Chisholm, and the children and grandchildren of that marriage I would also be interested in any "census" type of information that might list the family of son David McIntosh in 1820 Regards, Ben MacDonald ---------------- From "A Dictionary of Scottish Emigrants to Canada before Confederation”, Donald Whyte, 1986 Vol 1 entry 6754. McIntosh, Charles. From Petty, Inv. to Cornwallis N.S. 1785. Later settled East Branch East River , Pictou Co. Farmer and landowner . m 2 June 1775, Isabell Ross, qv. ch: Donald, Hugh, Duncan, Isabell, David, Mary Margaret, Elizabeth, Sally. In the same source Isabell Ross is identified as from Flemington, nr. Ft George, Inverness. , d/o John R. Ross. Wife of Charles McIntosh.

This has always been a question mark for me. I have a few questions regarding the first list of William/Catherine that you described in your recent post. Do you have the names, birth dates/places, marriage dates/places, death dates/places for the other fourteen children of William McIntosh and Delilah Shaw, and for the parents of Mary Catherine Moore plus her other eleven siblings you have referred to in your post dated 7 April 2006 GMT? You have also identified William McIntosh's wife as Delilah Shaw Montgomery. Is Delilah's maiden name Shaw or Montgomery? With respect to the Mr. Shaw or Mr. Montgomery she married, do you have the same data for her spouse that I requested in the first paragraph above for the others? You have listed Mary Catherine Moore's spouse as William Joseph McIntosh. Do you have a source for his middle name? I have seen it used as Jonathan rather than Joseph. Thank you again for the information in your post! Your friend, Jim
