I have just about quit searching because I became more and more convinced that the family I found in Sommervell Co., Texas was the right family but they would not acknowledge my attempts to communicate at all. Everything fit. His name was Charles McIntire, he was born about the right time, he was in the 1890 and 1910 census in Texas, but not in the 1900. My mother was told that she had been born in May, 1908, although where she was born was never made clear. I wrote to a couple of members of the family asking that, if I had the wrong person, to just please let me know so that I could direct my attention elsewhere. They never even acknowledged my letters although the letters were not returned to me. I don't know what this signifies except that they definitely want nothing to do with me. I've never been so completely ignored. I'm 73 and in bad health so I am really not able to whole-heartedly continue the search. My mother lived 81 ! years without knowing who her family was so I guess I can live what time I have left without knowing them either. It's so kind of you to want to help. I really do appreciate it.
