Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/xkz.2ACEB/360 Message Board Post: I recently purchased a Victorian ca 1890 Cabinet Portrait studio portrait of twins: ORA and ORAL McINTIRE (could be McIntyre), from an antique dealer in Walworth, Wisconsin. I enjoy buying lovely old pictures like these in antique shops (with names on the back and photographer’s locations on the front) and locating descendants/family members so that I can re-unite the pictures, for only my costs, with people who will treasure them. This photo was taken (by my estimate) anywhere from 1885 to 1890, and the twins look to be about 8 months old. The photograph was taken by a professional photographer named “Halstead“ in Unionville, MO. Unionville is in Putnam Co. The twins are cute blond baby boys wearing white, in what could be their christening photo. They are seated in an elegant wicker chair, seated on what looks to be possibly a buffalo hide. The picture is an original and is 4-1/4” x 6-½”, mounted on a heavy cardboard frame, as was typical during that time period. It is in excellent condition.
