Surnames: McEntire/McIntire/ McIntyre/McEntyre Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/xkz.2ACEB/361 Message Board Post: My grandfather was John Wylie McIntire who was born in Spartanburg SC or somewhere in NC. Apparently he was of SCottish lineage and possible Cherokee Indian as well. The spelling of the name varied greatly sometimes in the same family. All I know about him is that his first wife was Margaret Finley/Findley/ Fenley/ Fendley and they acme to Texas together with John's parents: Zachary Taylor McIntyre and Myrna Crocker McIntyre. I found Myrna in the SC census but Zachary Taylor MCIntyre is a mystery to me. I don't know if John had brothers and sisters of not.I would like to know. I know that one of his sons, John McIntyre from the first marriage was in Widner Ark in 1973. Margaret, John, Zachary and Myrna are all buried in the Ladonia, TX City Cemetery in what is now Delta Co.TX but used to be Fannin County, TX. The historical society there has never heard of them.
