I've got an old photo of an unidentified young lady probably taken in the late 1800's or early 1900's and on the back of the photo it says: Jas R. MacIntire 2104 Columbia Ave Phila Now I realize the spelling of the last name is not the same as what you are looking for, but thought that if you are like me, a small nudge in any direction is better than sitting still in the water! This picture was with my late mother's things, but it was not with a box of photos but separate. I've tried to do some research on the name and address, too. So far I've little to offer, but do believe that I found a James MacIntire listed as a photographer in the Philadelphia, PA directories. My mother's family lived in Philadelphia, with my first definite "find" dating back to the 1860 cenus - this is a Kingston and Donahue family. Also am leaning towards Shaffer/Schaeffer/Schaffer family of 1850 as the possible parents for my great-grandmother, Amanda Potts. Other names that have come up in my research that are connected - all within Philadelphia from 1860-1900 are Homan, Medcalf, Black, Wright, Thompson, Couslick or Cusick, Tees, Hertens, Dailey. Since I do not know about the girl in the photo, I wondered if any of those surnames have any connection with what you have found on your McIntyres?
