My mother was told that her mother's maiden name had been Barnes, married to Charles McIntire, and that is absolutely ALL I know. Mom wasn't even sure that she was being told the truth about her parent's names and never discovered one way or the other. The people who raised mother were named Tom and Donie Barber and it seems they were only neighbors to the McIntires and knew nothing about their families. In the years I've been searching, I've been able to find nothing more. The McIntires I found in Texas fit the description but I have no proof and they refused to even deny they were the right family so I know nothing about them either. I wish I could be of some help to you but I can't even help myself. I've found no proof of my mother's birth. Her school records were burned in a court house fire and anyway, she went to school under the name of Evelyn Barber. I can find no census record of Charles and Mary McIntire, or no record of the death of Mary McIntire. After about five years of research, I know nothing more than I knew when I started. I've quit searching, I'm too old to worry about it any more. I wish you more luck than I've had. God bless, Betty
