Hi list, If anyone would like to see photos of the historical marker at Enterprise, WV, commemorating John and Rachel McIntire who were killed in that area by Indians in 1791, you can e-mail me at cmmines@yahoo.com. I took these in June. The one of the marker is rather large (in kilobytes, that is), as that was the only way you could still read it. I am a descendant of their youngest child, Zadok, and Keziah Drummond. Chris --------------------------------- Do You Yahoo!? Make international calls for as low as $.04/minute with Yahoo! Looking for any information on Patrick McIntire married Ellen Donahue abt. 1871, their children, Philip, James, William and son John born in 1880 and seems to have died before 1900. My father who was the son of Philip married Daisy Gibson in 1932 and her ancestors are from the Eastern Shore in Maryland. Patrick immigrated from Ireland and they lived in Baltimore, Maryland.
My maiden name is McIntire and my mother's was Gibson. Where are your surnames from? Mine are from Maryland. I have a Arminta Saunders that married a George Glanville Gibson, but don't know of any Arminta McIntire.

There is a possibility that this is the same Joseph H. McIntire. Do you have any other information about him? I am not the one you answered; but I am looking for the same Joseph H.
I have a great, great Uncle, Joseph H. McIntire, born Ausut 29, 1836 in Roxbury, MA. Could this be him? I am not sure who he married. His brother, Isaac Talbot McIntire was my great, great Grandfather.

Message for Kelly. I am descended from the Samuel McIntire who married Emily Moredock in Switzerland Co IN. He later married a widow Vina Palmer Mounts. They had two or three children. Two sons Benjamin and Daniel. You may E-Mail me at WTJSTracy@aol.com Sandy
I have recently added to the McIntire history so have joined the McIntire lists and am posting the updated to this family hoping to find conections. Following is the first 2 generations. Fist generation is listed suposed siblings. Can anyone verify or tell me I am incorrect? Second generation has the Will of WIlliam McIntire. You might find this an interesting read Descendants of McIntire Generation No. 1 1. ??? MCINTIRE1 Since William Jr was born @18180, I have looked at the 1820 and forward census of Kentucky. From the names given and those which have been repeated in the family history, I suspect the father of William is either William, James, John, Robert, or Daniel McIntire. Children of MCINTIRE are: 2. i. DANIEL COX2 MCINTIRE. 3. ii. WILLIAM M. MCINTYRE, b. April 1819, Kentucky; d. September 08, 1904, Denton, Denton Co., TX.. 4. iii. THOMAS MCINTIRE, b. 1821. Generation No. 2 2. DANIEL COX2 MCINTIRE (MCINTIRE1) He married AGNES F. HUSTON September 03, 1847 in Scotland CO. MO.. Notes for DANIEL COX MCINTIRE: Daniel Cox McIntire lived next to William McIntire per land records in the 1860 census in Scotland County, MO, therefore I have assumed they are brothers and when we find the parent we will know for certain. He very well could have bought the land from brotherThomas who was there 10 yrs previous. Children of DANIEL MCINTIRE and AGNES HUSTON are: i. MARTHA ELZA3 MCINTIRE. ii. SELDON MCINTIRE. iii. FANNY MCINTIRE. iv. DAN MCINTIRE. 3. WILLIAM M.2 MCINTYRE (MCINTIRE1) was born April 1819 in Kentucky, and died September 08, 1904 in Denton, Denton Co., TX.. He married PERMELIA LINDSEY, daughter of JOHN LINDSEY and REBECCA. She was born 1818 in Kentucky, and died October 23, 1901 in TX. Notes for WILLIAM M. MCINTYRE: There was a William listed in the 11th Kentucky Union infantry. I found a Lemuel C. McIntire who was listed as in the frigate, Congress & Gunboat Yantia 8-1861 to 12-1865. I am pretty certain he fits into this picture as it was in a Yankies in Texas book. He could likely be a son of William... Williams will was filed by daughter Mary E. Wood, whom he was living with when he died. She filed nearly 2 years after his death & reads as follows: State of Texas, Denton CO. File in 1906 I Wm. Notes for JAMES WYCLIFFE MCINTIRE: 1914 Found small bit of property in Cooper Township of Sangamon Co., IL. where these two married. It was next to two McIntire properties of exact same size and length. The other two were M. E. McIntire and T. J. Mcintire. I assume these are relatives but do not know where they come in as of todays writing (5-15-99). I believe this is Springfield, IL. The properties were narrow and long...rectangular in length. From other layouts of other homes this era, would suspect that home would have been in front with home/living quarters for slaves/home help in the back. Notes for MARILDIA C. STANLEY: Suspect her parents are Mr. C. B Stanley and Mrs. E. A. Stanley. He was head of house in a 1860 Sangamon Co., census with children, J. 10 yr, M., 2 yr and L. L. 4 months. This would have made her about 16/17 at the time of marriage. viii. MARION S. MCINTIRE, b. April 15, 1855, Memphis, Scotland County, MO.; d. October 22, 1918, Grayson Co., TX.; m. > Excuse me for my ignorance, but what is a GEDCOM? Great question. What is a GEDCOM? GEDCOM is an acronym for Genealogical Data Communication; it's a method of formatting the text of your family data so that different software programs and operating systems can read and understand it. The GEDCOM "standard" was originally developed by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints' Family History Department, which holds the copyright. Although it began as a "universal" format, many genealogy programs implement their own, slightly-modified version of GEDCOM. To you, the user, this means that it isn't always a sure thing that all of your data makes it from one program to another (more about this later). For more details see: http://www.leisterpro.com/doc/Articles/GEDCOM101.htmlSincerely If you use a Genealogy program to store your family records then it probably uses GEDCOM or can make GEDCOM files. If any of you are interested! "MACSTER". I'd like to get as many Mc?nt?re GEDCOMS as there are in the world and put them all down on CD. Or have them traded between us. If any of you would like to donate their GEDCOMS or if any of you know of a good way of doing this. Wouldn't it be great if there was a CD that you could search through that had it all there. We wouldn't have to read all these posts and cross check every Mary Mc we see to the one or two that we have in our own records. With these CD writers that are becoming standard on most new PC'S it will be the way of the future. We could trade our GEDCOMS or CD'S. A bit like a NAPSTER type thing. GEDCOMS are available at the moment on ROOTSWEB but I haven't yet uploaded mine. I will start downloading all the GEDCOMS from ROOTSWEB that have a lot of Mc content in them and start putting them on a CD and see what happens. Providing ROOTSWEB will allow this. I don't think they have a copyright on donated GEDCOMS. I don't intend this to be a 'for profit' type exercise. There are a lot of Genealogy companies that will be doing this or are doing this now. Then we'll have to pay for work that has been done by us. Any comments please.
