Is there a part of KY that is close to those places? My Zachary Taylor is buried in Ladonia, Delta County, TX in teh City Cemtery. He is in the Presbyterian side. I don't knwo what faith he was because I never knew him or my grandfather John W. McIntyre and he married Myra Crocker but I don't know much about her. At times, she claims to have been born in NC or SC and she is buried for sure in Ladonia, Delta Co. in thecemtery in 1923. Her grave and Margaret Finley McIntyre(grandfather's first wife) are all in a row with John's and Zachary's. Have you looked at NC or SC McIntires? My bunch was SUPPOSED to have been from around Spartanburg, SC but a historian who has researched Crockers tells me no way was Myra Crocker born there. I am going to have to keep looking. YES THERE IS A CONNECTION but we haven't found it yet!
Below is a copy of an email I got from some kind of fraudster. It appears that he found my name on the net and came up with a luring story to entice me into some kind of scam. Be careful with who you deal with on the net especially when dealing with confidential genealogy matters. I try to only publish information on deceased, but that is enough to give these tricksters an angle or enough information to figure you out. My father has also received similar mails from possibly the same people. This man below has gotten hold of my telephone number and has made two calls at 1 in the morning from Africa. He sounds just as scammy as his email. Has anybody else received similar mails? Copy of mail. Dated Oct 10. Dear Peter McEntyre I am Ray Morgan, a consultant to. Mr.-Jeffery-McEntyre, a nationality of your country, who lived in here in Dubai U.A.E. On the 30th of june 2002, he was involved in a car accident along Dubai - Sharjah Highway. All occupants of the vehicle unfortunately lost there lives as they are on a weekend outing to a nearby city. I have contacted you to assist in repatriating his money and property left behind before they get confiscated or declared unserviceable by the Finance Company where this huge deposits was lodged.Particularly, the deceased had an Amount at about 14.9 million dollars, After notification of the death of the deceased to the Finance Company they has issued me a notice to provide the next of kin or have the Funds confisicated within the next 45 days . Since I have been unsuccesfull in locating the relatives all this while till now, that's why I seek your consent to purporting you as the next of kin of the deceased since you have the same last name so that the proceeds of this Amount valued at 14.9 million dollars can be paid to you as the bonafide approved Next of Kin by the Finance Company. If you agree we can discuss the percentage you will have as compensation on your involvement.I have all necessary papers that can be used to back up the facts and claim on the Fund Release. All I require is your honest, cooperation and Sincerity to enable us see this deal go through. I guarantee that this will be executed under a legitimate arrangement that will protect you from any breach of the law. Awaiting your response. I'm out of the City on a business trip and will be back as soon as you confirm your interest on this.I will notify you on the next step as soon as we agree on the sharing partain as per percentage. I have just about quit searching because I became more and more convinced that the family I found in Sommervell Co., Texas was the right family but they would not acknowledge my attempts to communicate at all. Everything fit. His name was Charles McIntire, he was born about the right time, he was in the 1890 and 1910 census in Texas, but not in the 1900. My mother was told that she had been born in May, 1908, although where she was born was never made clear. I wrote to a couple of members of the family asking that, if I had the wrong person, to just please let me know so that I could direct my attention elsewhere. They never even acknowledged my letters although the letters were not returned to me. I don't know what this signifies except that they definitely want nothing to do with me. I've never been so completely ignored. I'm 73 and in bad health so I am really not able to whole-heartedly continue the search. My mother lived 81 ! years without knowing who her family was so I guess I can live what time I have left without knowing them either. It's so kind of you to want to help. I really do appreciate it. I wish you all the best in any endeavor you make. Sincerely, Betty Hayes

I am going to suggest that you search Lamar, Red River, Delta,Fannin and Hunt Counties in TX to start. There are also McIntire/McIntyre family members in the Panhandle of TX in Lubbock Co and quite a few in Arkansas. WHen ever they woudl mess up, they tended to cahnge the spelling of the last name. It has also appeared as McEntyre and McEntire in the SAME family in TX. In more extreme instances, I have seen it spelled "Mac" and all the other I and E variations. No other branch of my McIntire/McIntyre family would have bailed out on their own kid. Maybe I can help.

OIherwise known as "LDS" or "The Mormons" -- better capitalize it because these folks are world-reknown for their genealogy work,. And almost everywhere they have a church, they have a family history center somewhere. Usually they have a listing in the yellow pages. IF they don't have it, you migth want to check with your State Library and Archives Lilbrary usually locatedin your state capital and they might be able to get it on InterLibrary Loan. Your local library might be able to get it on ILL also. Good luck!

My McIntyres/McIntire kin are Zachary Taylor McIntyre 1840-1905; Myra Crocker McIntire/McIntyre whom I did find in the Spartanburg, SC area in the 1869 Census; their son John W. ( possibly Wylie)McIntyre/McIntire( my grandfather) b. 1869 and died 17 April 1934 and his first wife Margaret Finley/Findley/Findley/Fendley 1870-1912. All of them are buried in the Ladonia, Delta Co., TX City Cemetery side by side. Delta County used to be part of Fannin County as did Hunt, Red River and Lamar COunty. And there are several McIntyres I can't account for. Some children of Margaret and John W. from his first marriage that I know about are Bose, Paul, John,Zachary Taylor,Myra and maybe Tom. If you will look below, I believe I have solved the mystery of who grandson Oscar McIntire is in the William McIntire will Denton CO. TX 1904 It appears that his son John remarried (and his middle initial M instead of W?) as first son is 11 yr old. and second son is now 2 and named Oscar. Nobody would talk about him. Like I was telling another McIntyre/McIntire researcher, I began researching the part of the family who lived in Delta County, TX when I was a newspaper reporter in Fannin County, TX in Bonham back in the 1979-1980 period. I was even on the Fannin County Historical Commission and fought like everything to save our history from those stupid, greedy, HORRIBLE developers!!!!!! DON'T DESTROY MY HISTORY!!!! But whenever i would mention the McIntire/McIntyre family, people would suddenly have something else to do and nobody would talk about them or they would have a convenient lapse of memory. I remember seeing a court record in Fannin County that my grandfather was arrested for illegally carrying a handgun. Delta County wasn't the best for keeping records. I think it ranks there with Spartanburg Co, SC... which is where my bunch of McIntyres/McIntires (and maybe yours too) was ORIGINALLY from...I have documented my great-grandmother there, a feisty lady named Myrna Crocker in the 1860 Spartanburg Co. Census. I remember when I was a kid that there were guarded whispers about him having been a drunk (for sure) and having a horrible and violent temper. I don't think he was a wife beater though because from what i heard Myrna could match him in every respect and would have pulverized him if he so much as treated her with anything less than chivary and gallantry to which she was accustomed because she fought to get it. I don't know if Zachary Taylor McIntire/McIntyre stold anything or not. If he did, it would have been horses because he was an EXPERT on them. And it was rumored that he could talk to all kinds of animals and understood them when they responded. Chickens? No, too minor league.
