Both were in Mason County, Virginia (W) in 1830. According to the census William, Sr. was born btw 1750 and 1760. William, Jr. was born abt. 1806. William, Jr. married Elizabeth Williams and they moved accross the river to Pomeroy, Ohio between 1840 and 1850. In 1850 William and Elizabeth had the following children: Arch (short for archibald maybe since Elizabeth's father was named archibald) b: abt 1839 William b: abt 1831 Isaac b: abt 1832 Ellen b: abt 1835 (married William Derry) James b: abt 1838 Julia Ann b: abt 1839 Edmund (maybe Edward) b: abt 1843 Thomas b: abt 1846 Any information would be appreciated I am stuck on William Sr. He was in Mason County in 1820, but I cannot find a William McIntyre (McIntire) that matches him previous to that.

Notes for JUNIOUS LINDSEY MCINTIRE: It appears that the descendants of Junious McIntire inherit the trait of the dimple in the chin. There are stories told of Junious being an alcoholic and Flora, very upset over this. One story handed down to Becky Rucker McIntire is that often times Junious would bring home bolts of material for sewing for Flora, hoping this would cheer her, but when she would see he was drunk, she would let him have it to such a degree that to show her displeasure with his inebriated state, she would throw the bolts of material down the well. They were seperated in later life. More About JUNIOUS LINDSEY MCINTIRE: Burial: One death record states 6-16-1849 Census: 1880, Dallas, TX. near father William and Brother Marion. STANLEY, March 23, 1887, Sangamon Co., IL.. Notes for JAMES WYCLIFFE MCINTIRE: 1914 Found small bit of property in Cooper Township of Sangamon Co., IL. where these two married. It was next to two McIntire properties of exact same size and length. The other two were M. E. McIntire and T. J. Mcintire. I assume these are relatives but do not know where they come in as of todays writing (5-15-99). I believe this is Springfield, IL. The properties were narrow and long...rectangular in length. From other layouts of other homes this era, would suspect that home would have been in front with home/living quarters for slaves/home help in the back. Notes for MARILDIA C. STANLEY: Suspect her parents are Mr. C. B Stanley and Mrs. E. A. Stanley. He was head of house in a 1860 Sangamon Co., census with children, J. 10 yr, M., 2 yr and L. L. 4 months. This would have made her about 16/17 at the time of marriage. viii. MARION S. MCINTIRE, b. April 15, 1855, Memphis, Scotland County, MO.; d. October 22, 1918, Grayson Co., TX.; m. One thing you can try - go to the roots web harrison cty, wv page -under lookups there are two nice women who have the record book for Harrison Cty marraiges. If you request the info they might have the full record. Your Permelia A McIntire married Joseph Nay on January 8, 1874 in Harrison Cty, WV. -Given this basic info -and if the parents are listed on the marraige records then you should have her parents names. Also if for some strange reason the parents are not listed -maybe another volunteer with the 1860 or 1870 census can find your Permelia -and give you the head of household name. The web page should be www.rootsweb.com/~wvharris/ Good Luck! I think your Permelia is a dencendant of Charles McIntire Sr -but from which Son is the question! Rosemary

I suspect the problem is because I had not logged in. I have a Eliza M. McIntire marrying a Moses Tidd (his third marriage). Did Eliza (I also have her as Elizabeth) have a first husband and did they have any children? Moses and Eliza were married December 3, 1849. He died in 1850. She was 36 and he was 72. Eliza was born in Sealy Township, Pike County, Ohio in 1814 and was married to Moses Tidd there also. Frances was my great grandmother and was probably born in the same township in 1818. She did in Huntington Township, Ross County, Ohio in 1851. I have their parents as being William McIntire born 1782 in Ohio and dying in 1861 in Ross County, Ohio. His wife was Jean kirk and they were married June 4, 1812 in Ross County, Ohio. The date of birth for William is early in Ohio, but I believe he may have been Indian. I have photos of my grandmother and her sisters and all look Indian. My information ma! y answer some questions and open up others. I know William acquired to lots of land. Must close for now. I should know better than to play on the computer when I'm half asleep! My great great grandmother, Eliza McInture, was born, to the best of my knowledge, in 1813. She was married in 1833, at Springfield, Ohio, to Andrew J. Thompson. I have a copy of their marriage certificate as primary proof of that, at least. Andrew was born in Virginia and I have learned that his parents were John Thompson and Sithy Lee. Sithy's parents were James Lee and Mary Lee, first cousins. There is a chance, yet, that your Eliza and mine might be one and the same. Do you have the names of her parents? Do you have any other details about this family? Do you descend from one of Eliza's or Frances' children? Who? This may just be the exciting breakthrough that we've both been looking for! Jan

I've "rescued" an old Autograph Album which I believe belonged to Ernest Edmond ATWOOD. The book is dated from 1886 to 1911 and includes mostly family entries including poems and autographs. The entries include: Byron MCINTIRE of New Portland, Maine, Oct 6, 1886 "brother" Samuel C. ATWOOD of New Portland, Maine Lizzie B. ATWOOD of New Portland, Maine, October 10, 1886 "mother" Lyndon E. KNOWLES of Cambridge, Maine, Jan 23, 1911 Irene E. WILBER of Madison, Maine, Aug 29, 1911 Cassius W. CLARK of Pickney, Maine, Nov 30, 1911 Helen Mae ATWOOD of New Portland, Maine, Aug 3, 1911 "daughter" age 14 years Myra S. ATWOOD of New Portland, Maine, Oct 9, 1886 Nettie E. ATWOOD of Embden, Maine, Apr 18, 1888 Clayton L. ATWOOD of New Portland, Maine, Mar 11, 1911 "son" Howell ATWOOD of New Portland, Maine, Aug 1, 1909 age 12 years Nellie Mae of Embden, Maine, Aug 19, 1888 "your wife" Based on limited research, I believe that most of the people mentioned in the book are related in some manner. Samuel being Ernest's father, Irene WILBER likely related to Nellie Mae WILBUR ATWOOD, Cassius W. CLARK married to Jennie WILBUR likely a relative of Nellie's, and Myra and Nettie sisters to Ernest. I'd like to see that the book is returned to family. If you are a member of this family or know someone who might be, please contact me. Thanks, Shelley
Hi! I feel like I am asking a stupid question, but did any McIntires come from Germany? I have a family bio from Muskingum Co OH that states: "He comes from Irish and German lineage, that McIntire being of German descent" That has to be a mistake, doesn't it? Certainly, McIntire is either Irish or Scottish? Any help with this would be greatly appreciated. Many Thanks, Janet Currie
