    1. MacLachlan Clan
    2. Larry, I had this great letter going and my computer froze up on me and I lost it so I will try again. What was the spelling your lady friend said our name was? McLachlan? I sent messages to the clan in Scotland & America and they said yes it says so here that your name is a variation of Maclachlan but they can't tell you why they think that. I wish someone else would send them messages and ask them "how do you know this" They told me they would put my letters in a file in case they found out something. I haven't heard from them. eeeeee I wish we knew where in Scotland..........we can't even place not one of ours on a ship or anything. we can't place where they came into the country.. We do know that our earliest ancestor James MaGlohan/McGlohon bought a piece of property in 1720 and he paid for his land with tobacco......so that means he had to work somewhere else long enough to warrant enough tobacco to buy land. So they came before 1720....... 1720 - JAMES MAGLOHAN, PLANTER (WIT. JER. GLOHAN) deed book C, pg. 2, Chowan Co., NC BOUGHT - 150 ACRES SE SIDE OF BLIND NECK BRANCH AT STUMPY CREEK SWAMP… p 2. I think that the first James buying land was the son of Jeremiah who witness the transaction. Trying to get my brain to think the way I want. Anyway Larry can you see our pickle? folks tell us we are part of the lachlan clan but its up to us to find all the little pieces to prove or disprove it. and we're getting nowhere fast...... But that don't stop me I keep trying to put the families into their groups and figure out just how they hopped over here. See if you can find out anything from the groups? Please!!
