2. Subj: Re: [scots-origins] Day of the week calculator Date: 03/05/2001 10:03:39 AM Eastern Standard Time From: lindsay1947@aol.com Reply-to: scots-origins@yahoogroups.com To: scots-origins@yahoogroups.com Les: I found a good FREE date calculator called DateCalc. "Use it to add or subtract years, weeks, or days from a date. Or, have it figure out the number of days between dates. You can also enter a date and find out which day of the week it fell/falls on. Several date formats may be used. Unfortunately, you can't use the keypad to enter dates and must use a mouse" It runs on MS Windows and can be downloaded from www.zdnet.com at: http://www.zdnet.com/downloads/stories/info/0,,000YFL,.html Dave This message comes from the Scots Origins Discussion Group, sponsored by Scots Origins (www.origins.net), the official website for family history information from Scotland, to reply send an email to scots-origins@eGroups.com Vicki Vicki McGlaun Culpepper McGlaughon Mail List Owner Proud Rootsweb Sponsor McGlaughon MyFamily.com site McGlauhon/McGlohon/Glohon/McGlohan/McGlaughon/MeGlaehan/McGlawn/McGlawhorn/McG laun/McGlaughn/McGlaune/McGlon/McLawhorn/

1. Hey Strangers
2. What's going on Cousins? Whew I subbed to the scots origins that was sent to the list. BOY are they a busy group. I had to unsub. they keep my mailbox full. I need to find a place I can get mail free and send it to that address. if none of yall subbed to the list........it was very interesting if you can keep up...I am going on vacation for a week so i had to get off the list scotsorigins till i get back. I got the new computer work station all set up and in place now the computer and all of its goodies all in one place. Hopefully it won't be too much longer. We're going to Fla to go Oceola Turkey hunting on the Indian reservation. being on the reservation ought to be fun I don't know about turkey hunting. I like guns have been handling guns since I was about 4 yrs old but I don't know about shooting animals. I would be a vegetarian if it were left up to me to hunt and bring home the meat (I would bring home blackberries & dandlion & violet salad. hahaha) I hope my daughter takes care of my house while I am gone. I will miss my ole old dog. I always worry about my house and dog and flowers and my genealogy papers while I am gone somewhere. Anyway I just wanted to let yall know I am still here. And hopefull we will get back to work SOON> I have been loading all of my mail list to a list on the myfamily site. putting everything anyone has sent me and get them into one spot instead of in 3 computers. And that is working out good. Let me get to work and get some stuff done before time is up. 1. Re: MCGLAUGHON-D Digest V01 #4
2. Thank You Kathy. I haven't ever even looked at the mail list at Yahoo. Lately I have been lucky to read or rather run thru and delete mail. But I am making progress with the new computer stuff at home. We got the new computer work station (its not a desk its a work station) put together yesterday. And now to just pull it all together. Won't be long. Back to the yahoo mail list. I hope I subbed to all of them. I appreciate you sending those links. I would have never thought about yahoo. rootsweb and a few others keep me busy when I have alittle time to search. We have been unusually quiet or rather I have been unusually quiet I have just been way to busy. Maybe it will settle down a little. I am getting anxious. I went down to Liberty Hill Methodist Church and the Cemetary Sunday Jan 28, 2001. Joe and I went down towards Omaha looking at some land for sale and we rode by the Cemetary and Church. It sure was pretty down there it was a beautiful warm day and Jamie McGlaun sure keeps the grass cut pretty and the paint job still looks brand new and the new roof still looks brand new. Its just a beautiful place. I think I want to buried there (later on not now). Its just so peaceful and beautiful. Has any of the other groups made plans for their Family Reunions for this year? If so we can post them on the Myfamily site on the calender. You never know when some of us could be there close by and come to it. I know I have thought alot about coming to some of yalls reunions. Anybody live in San Antonio, Texas? Joe wants to go hunting out there and wants me to come along. We would fly out and rent a car and I would have the days to look around. Wonder what he could hunt in Bertie Co.? need to check that out. or maybe Ireland or Scotland. If I only knew enough I could go to Ireland or Scotland now. I already have him talked into that. without the hunting. just to look ....I want to go. That is about the only place I know I want to go the most. But got to know which one and where abouts anyway or some sort of clue to who when where and how. Gotta get to work. Miss yall and our info swapping. 3. Daniel L. McGlaun was born in 1851 and was one of the sons of David Gaskins McGlaun and Sarah E. John. He married Eva L. Bond in Cusetta. Daniel was the brother of Leah Ann McGlaun. Leah married William Mitchell Bond, also in Cusetta. William and Eva were the children of William M. D. Bond who was the preacher in and around Cusetta for a couple of years. Would one of you nice cousins fill me in on the data pertaining to Daniel? Also, if you have any info about the Bond family during that time, I would appreciate hearing from you. Thanks. 1. South Carolina
2. I hope this doesn't have all the extra letters and squiggles.....I never know when they will appear. it says here that the Scottish sailed into Charleston, South Carolina it was in mail list 1700 & 1720 Scots & Irish on 12-26-2000 He was a son of James and Jean Stobo Bulloch, the latter a daughter of Rev, Archibald Stobo, who sailed from Scotland with the Darien colonists in 1698, and subsequently (in 1700) settled at Charleston, S. C. James Bulloch, Sr., b. about 1701, in Scotland, came from Glasgow to Charleston about 1728, where, in 1729, he married Jean Stobo. The Bullochs appear to belong to Baldernock, in Stirlingshire, where the name appears on the records for some four hundred years back. Seems like we could find some sort of a name on a boat from somewhere...........please...... I sent a message earlier about Lea and 1650 earliest date for McGlohan I didn't see it come thru.....anyway I was looking at some old messages and I see where I have tried to get her to talk to me before........I don't think she ever did. I wonder can I find her.. I could call her on the phone. Vic

1. Hi Yall
2. Good Evening Cousins, What's going on? I am on the move with my home computer again. I have moved it to the office and got myself a 19" monitor, yes I like this. I don't need my glasses to read anything. and its not pink its the right colors. And my daughter Stephanie's boyfriend's father (did you follow that?) builds computers and writes programs and all that stuff and I have gotten him to agree to build me a computer (you know the pentium whatever and the memory and all the good stuff). I ordered the tower shell today and tomorrow will try and get the rest of it ordered. He's going to make it where my digital camera can be hooked up and a cd rewriter and all the things I need to do bunches more genealogy and all the fun stuff that goes with it. Hope to have it all in running order in a couple weeks. I can't wait. memory and speed....yes.. I am coming along pretty good with my consolidation of all the family files I have. Who would have ever guessed there were so many of us and I had them all in 3 different computers. And I thought I was a lone McGlaun in this world at one time. I sure am glad yall proved me wrong. Anyway I got all the files copied to one disc now. And yall thought I couldn't do that. I was beginning to wonder myself. I just wanted to play with my new monitor (without my reading glasses) and let yall know I haven't lost interest just trying to get my equipment up to a better level. Won't be long and I will get to posting some more of our pictures and actual copies of documents. I never did hear anything else about John T. McGlaun. It sure would be nice to know a little something about what that was all about. I guess whenever he decided to let us know who exactly he is and which John we will know. My interest just overwhelms me sometimes and I can't hardly stand to wait. I guess I am learning patience, aren't I. Later Cousins, Vicki
