Thank You Ouida, Lots of the time I just find info and instead of reading it (just in case I miss something we need) I just copy it over and send it to the mail list for us all to scan over in hopes of us finding some little tidbit. I need to go back and pull the Thomas Smith stuff and Mourning howell McGlaughon and see if I can find some of their descendents and see what they know. They had a daughter Nancy ......I have forgot what her husband name is at the moment. I have so many things I want to search. Sometimes it doesn't come thru in the copy well though and that makes it awkward to read. That is depressing when I see it come thru the mail list all in a jumble that no one would understand. but its a chance you take. I just keep studing the deed and wills and who was where when trying to decide what family member they are. its so confusing sometimes. Its like some of them just pop up all of a sudden. Liike Edmund signing Joanna Gaskins bastard bond. before that he was mention what twice and nothing else. Its just confusing. He was also the administrator for orphans of James McGlohn d. 1750. But no one mentions him in any will ........do they? I just don't think he is Hardy's father for some reason .......I think he is his uncle or older brother by another marriage? like Jeremiah....... look how many times Wm married and it seems to me that when sons move on to other areas of the country they are not given land and animals as much ........it like they got their when they left...... Oh well its Friday 1:07 and the boss is gone and I am leaving work (my computer at home is faster and better and more fun) The reason I am sending this message to the mail list is that I have been wanting to say to everyone that I am sorry if I keep repeating messages......but for some reason I have been missing some (probably cause my mail box keeps getting full) Earl I am sorry if I keep sending your message you probably wonder what's wrong with me. I just didn't want everyone else to miss you. Larry, I am not sure what to ask these people except maybe what area of Scotland we are suppose to come from? who the person was who did the research that says our McGlaun is part of McLachlan......I tried to find him so I could ask them that very question. Where is your research telling you this. They never contacted me with the information of who did the research. I will keep studing the deeds and wills and all that trying to figure out some sort of a pattern. or something. On a lighter note my new scanner came in and I just haven't slowed down long enough to install it at the house yet. but I will this weekend. A lot of the pictures people have sent me are hanging above my computer and so when I get aggitated I just look up at all the folks and they help me get back to work. I LOVE IT> I hope I do inspire yall to get out there an see what you can find.... Your cousin, Vicki PS Oh well its Friday 1:07 and the boss is gone and I am leaving work (my computer at home is faster and better and more fun) Subj: Re: unsubscribe OHoward525@aol.com Date: 03/23/2001 12:04:31 PM Eastern Standard Time From: OHoward525 To: CATAULAVIC No, I only get it once - hard enough to read all of it one time - but couldn't do without it now that you have us spoiled. Larry, I had this great letter going and my computer froze up on me and I lost it so I will try again. What was the spelling your lady friend said our name was? McLachlan? I sent messages to the clan in Scotland & America and they said yes it says so here that your name is a variation of Maclachlan but they can't tell you why they think that. I wish someone else would send them messages and ask them "how do you know this" They told me they would put my letters in a file in case they found out something. I haven't heard from them. eeeeee I wish we knew where in Scotland..........we can't even place not one of ours on a ship or anything. we can't place where they came into the country.. We do know that our earliest ancestor James MaGlohan/McGlohon bought a piece of property in 1720 and he paid for his land with tobacco......so that means he had to work somewhere else long enough to warrant enough tobacco to buy land. So they came before 1720....... 1720 - JAMES MAGLOHAN, PLANTER (WIT. JER. GLOHAN) deed book C, pg. 2, Chowan Co., NC BOUGHT - 150 ACRES SE SIDE OF BLIND NECK BRANCH AT STUMPY CREEK SWAMP… p 2.
