Eaton b. 1847 in or around Laurel or Whitley Counties in KY. His death certificate lists his mother as SALLIE EATON (prob b. 1820's) and father as DONHEN MCFARLAND. This John R. could have been son of Lewis and Elizabeth Cronk Eaton. Lewis died early in John's life and McFarland might have finished raising him. John R. Eaton married Mary Jane Hammock prob 1870-ish Laurel County, KY
