My great grandfather John McFarland born in 1829 in Boone, IA and was a Civil war veteran. I wonder if this Bible might belong to McFarland line prior to his birth. I have been unable to find a record of either of his parents. Thank you.

McFarland married (Alice) "Nettie" B. Wise. John was born about 1875. I wonder if there is a connection. I still can not figure out where John came from but he was a "hired hand" and I think he was from the area - not too far. I do not know much about any of his sisters or brothers or parents. Henry had 2 brothers Bill and Albert and 3 sisters Hattie, Carrie, and Margaret. This is were all my info stops. This doesn't seem to be getting me anywere. She is my g-grandmother, b abt 1846, probably in Tuscaloosa, AL. Newton was born and died in Tuscaloosa and was in the Confederate Army. Their children were William 1866, John B. 1869 and Harvey Manning Waldrop 1871. Does anyone recognize any of these individuals. My grandfather Harvey was a recluse and a misanthrope. My cousins who buried him didn't even know who his parents were, so I had a heckuva time finding him. Newton's parents were Ezekiel Waldrop and Rebecca Clements. Anyone know Nancy?
