I would appreciate more detail concerning your husband's father, Edward Eli. Did he prehaps have any brothers? If so what were their names. Also do you have any information as to the names of Solomon and Myrtle's children? I am trying to connect names on funeral notices that I have come by through my research. Hope you can help. My husband Eddie is the son of William Franklin McFarland, who was the son of William Thomas McFarland, who was the son of Thomas Jefferson McFarland, who was the son of Eli McFarlin. Eli's wife was Louisa Pinkston. Their children were, George Ann, Sarah Ellen, William, Thomas Jefferson, Parnecia, Polly, Louisa, Mollie, John Henry, Mattie & Minnie, and Edward. This John Henry was born 9-15-1869 and died March 3, 1951. His death certificate indicates that he is buried in Auburn Cemetery but we have not been able to locate the headstone. Let me introduce myself. Surprisingly my name is Judy Deckard McFarland. My husband, Eddie McFarland is a decendant of Eli McFarlin (buried in Auburn Cemetary). One of Eli's sons was John McFarland. John's son was Solomon McFarland. John's wife was Suzana (Susia) Gregory. All are buried in Auburn Cemetary. Just for your information Claude was Solomon's brother. Charles Joseph McFarland is also the son of John McFarland and Suzana (Susia). My info was obtained from newspaper obituaries. In addition I was able to obtain some infor from federal census sources. McFarland, 1437 Oklahoma , age 69, died Wednesday, January 27, 1954 at St.Joseph Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 1 P.M. Saturday, January 30, 1954, from Colonial Chapel, Reigle Funeral Home, 2417 S. Saginaw St., Dr. E.H.Longman officiating. Burial in Grace Lawn Cemetery. Body will be at the funeral home. Death was due to a heart disease and an illness of 14 months. Mr. McFarland was born in Edmonton, Kentucky, June 20, 1884, and lived in Flint the last 38 years. He retired from the Flint Police Department in 1945, after 25 years of service and has been with the Sheriff Department since. Surviving are: wife, Mrs. Annabelle McFarland; 2 sons, Robert and John McFarland, both of Flint; 2 brothers, Spencer of Indianapolis, Ind. and Melvin of Edmonton, KY; 3 sisters, Mrs. Mamie Moore and Mrs. Hattie Wright of Indianapolis, Mrs. Rose Cummings of Glasco, Ky.; 3 grandchildren.
