I wonder whether you located the site of Jacob's grave in then Haywood, I assume now Crockett County, Tennessee, whether you know where and when he fought in North Carolina in the Revolutionary War, who his parents were, and from where in Northern Ireland Jacob emigrated (I have one source, an 1882 History of Bond County, that lists Jacob as being from Scotland). In Vermilion County Census Records for 1900, Ellie, born 1881, Aron born 1887, Orilla born 1889, Odessa born 1892, Andrew born 1998, 2 children do not show up in Census I do not know who they are? Eli is a farmer and rents a home on a farm, I believe from his brother maybe, Sylvester, married to Allie McFarland, they have a son Albert McFarland, these families farmed land in Vermilion County IL, in the late 1800's and early 1900's. Both men Eli and Sylvester were born in Indiana, both do not know where their mother was born, but there father whom I do not know yet was born in Penn. Eli's full name is Elijah. Anyone connect to this family? Sylvester's wife's maiden name is Mead.

Maybe there are some clues that will help. "Wm. MCFARLAND, the first Sheriff of Cooper county, was born in Buncome county, North Carolina, in the year 1778. He emigrated to St. Genevieve, now St. Francis county, Missouri, in 1811, and from thence to Cooper county, and on the 16th day of October, 1816, he settled on the north side of the Petite Saline Creek, where Joseph BYLER now resides. He had two neighbors living on the south side of the creek whose names were John GLOVER and WARDEN. He had no other neighbors nearer than the immediate neighborhood of Boonville. He as in 1818 or 1819 a member of the Territorial Legislature from the southern district of Howard county, which included that part of the county lying south of the Missouri river. He was a farmer, a man of great energy, an affectionate husband and father and a good neighbor. He died in the year 1834."
