I was unaware that there were any other McFarlands in the Worcester area. From what you are saying it appears that there were 2 Daniel mcFarlands born in Worcester at about the same time one in 1729 and one in 1731. How very strange. Neither Crane in his book or Bolton in his book mentions another McFarland family (other than Daniel McFarland died 1738) in the Worcester area. I do not recall that C M Little mentions any other McFarland Families either. I do not in my data have an actual birth date for Daniel McFarland son of Daniel McFarland of Worcester, but ceratin that he was not born in the USA but born in Tyrone, and came over with his father and brothers/sisters. There was a son of Duncan mcFarland, alleged brother of Daniel of Worcester, his son Daniel was born 1723/1724, but I have his wife as Margaret Dunn. I shou! ld like to have more info on your Daniel and his family, tho' possibly not related to Daniel McFarland (died 1738) of Worcester. MAC

Surnames: McFarland, Haskins, Nettleton, Simons Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/FG0.2ACIB/1020.1.1 Message Board Post: Greetings, I believe there is confusion concerning the Daniel McFarlands that were in Worcester. Our Daniel was born 1729 not 1731 and according to the research of Bennet Jenks he was born and married in the old country. This other Daniel (the Colonel) was born 1731 in Worcester, yes? Our Daniel died in 1786, quite different from the Colonel who died 1817 in PA. Although we have no records of where our Daniel died, he had moved to North Adams, Berkshire county from Worcester about 1767. We can only assume that he died in this locale. Also, our Daniel's children are very different from the other's. Ours are listed as Daniel Jr. (marriage to Avis Reynolds), Duncan ( a cripple who never married), Nancy, Lucretia (married a man named Waters), and one other daughter, whose name we do not know, who married a man named Carter. This branch, besides our Daniel Jr's 14 children, we have but one known child and that being the son of Nancy and William Slocum, Lemuel S. Slocum, Born ca. 1811 in Adams Twp, Berkshire, Ma. Of course Jenks' work may be completely erroneous as to this early branch. Very little of it is cited in 'The Clan McFarland' book he put out, but with only a couple of very insignificant errors, it appears quite solid. I intend to go out to Ohio where a Jenks' descendent is in possession of his research.
