Having studied/researched Bernard McElroys for over a decade, I have some sobering news. Both Bernard and McElroy in the 19th century in both Fermanagh and the USA, is like John and Smith. Roll up your sleeves, and start digging in the USA records, and relatives. In NYC civil marriage records are the best, to look backward, for name parents of both bride and groom. Don't forget Bernard's wife family!
