We may still be related, but the John and Francis I was referring to had children born by 1713 in Baltimore Co., Maryland. From Maryland, they traveled through Virginia (evidence points to that fact) to Craven, Johnston, and Wake (boundaries changed) Co. North Carolina. From North Carolina, there was a migration to around Wilkes and Oglethorpe (boundaries again) Georgia before 1800. After 1800, they appeared to move on to other southern states, mostly Tennessee, Alabama, Mississippi, Texas. A few to Arkansas. I'm not familiar with the ones in Henry Co., GA, but the chances are good that they were related. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Mcelroy, Tom L" <Mcelrotl@ARAMCO.COM.SA> To: <MCELROY-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Tuesday, June 11, 2002 1:49 AM Subject: RE: [MCELROY-L] Fwd: {not a subscriber} Re: John McELROY Sr. b. 1690,d. 1763 & Frances (?) > Is this the John & Frances married 04Nov1824 in Henry Co. I believe my Simon McElroy b.1818 is the son of a William McElroy m. Mary Arnold of Oglethorpe Co. GA. Just having difficulties proving the connection. If you have information on that connection, I would be very thankful. > > Regards > > Rodney > > -----Original Message----- > From: Mdmgen@aol.com [mailto:Mdmgen@aol.com] > Sent: Sunday, May 26, 2002 12:24 AM > To: MCELROY-L@rootsweb.com > Subject: [MCELROY-L] Fwd: {not a subscriber} Re: John McELROY Sr. b. > 1690,d. 1763 & Frances (?) > > > In a message dated 5/24/2002 5:52:50 PM Central Standard Time, > muddauber@worldnet.att.net writes: > > > > This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. > > > > > > > > Message Board URL: > > > > http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg//hF0.2ACIB/601.1.1 > > > > Message Board Post: > > > > Hi Rodney, > > > > As I mentioned in my post, my wife beverly is the 7G granddaughter of John & > > Frances McELROY. > > Beverly is descended from their son Archibald McELROY Sr. & Catherine > > SIMPSON. > > We would appreciate any info that you have on them and/or their descendants > > & we will be happy to exchange any info that we have. > > > > Fred & Beverly Downs > > > > > > > ==== MCELROY Mailing List ==== > Remember attachments are not to be sent to the list.
