    3. Hi Rodney ( and others on this list ), Rodney, I saw your mention of McKelroys in Cherokee Co., AL. That reminded me that I saw a McKelroy grave in a cemetary located on I-65 just barely south of Priceville, AL. Priceville is located near Cullman Co., possibly in Morgan Co. A quick check of the map would let you know. While I have not checked into the whereabouts of Cherokee County, I thought I would let you know about this information in case it helps you. There might be other McKelroys still in the Priceville area. My own McLeroys are a little further down the interstate around Hanceville, Cullman, and Good Hope, all of which are in Cullman County, AL. We are part of line that came through Georgia, and descended supposedly from the John Mackelroy of Maryland way back when. I am nowhere near Priceville, so I am sorry to say that I can't run over to that cemetary to get the McKelroy information from the headstone, though I can say that it is fairly recent ( second half of 1900's ). For anyone else: of course, I will welcome all information on the McLeroys, and some McElroys, of my line: ( in order, from recent to farther back ) James Edward, John Henry (both of Cullman Co. AL), then Charles S. born in Oglethorpe Co. GA ( anyone know what the S is for? ), Edward Suicher born in Granville Co. NC, died Pike Co. GA, who married first cousin Mary Francis McElroy ( by the way, does anyone know how to pronounce "Suicher"? ) ; then John A. McLeroy born Wake Co. NC, died Oglethorpe Co., NC (anyone know what the A is for? ), then John McLeroy, then John McLeroy married Francis Durham. Of course, any additional information, as well as corrections, is welcome. Mark

    3. Tom McLeroy (now deceased) of your line had a good bit to say about the Sugars or Suicher (meaning Sugar) line. If you have not had access to his book, I may be able to send you a copy of the pages from his book regarding this. Unfortunately, I'm having computer problems so can't send you the scanned page/s, although I can later. Send me your address at jstokes@houston.rr.com and I will mail them to you. In return for this, could you e-mail me descendants of Charles (b. abt. 1820) and Mary Ann T. Wright (b. abt 1820), married 27 Dec 1842 Fayette Co., GA? I have their children, Thomas (b. abt 1842), James Edward (b. 4 Jun 1848), Charles (b. abt 1849), John (b. abt 1854), Mary (b. abt 1856), Pelletia (b. abt. 1858). I don't have who they married or their children. If I'm wrong on the above, I would appreciate corrections. The names and connections are so similar. I have 2 similar lines, but different linkages. Perhaps we could compare those bits of information. For instance, I don't have Thomas, but I do have James Edward, son of Charles. But I have him as son of Edward and Polly. Edward is the son of John and Rebecca while Mary is the daughter of Henry and Pelletiah. I have 2 John As and 1 John Allen. None of them fit. I'm not sure, but the the prounciation of Suicher may be Sue cher. Someone who speaks French would come nearer knowing.
