    3. I am relpying from work, so I don't have all the information in front of me. My John is: John Winfield Scott McKelroy born in Cherokee Co. Ala. I have the date but not with me. He served in the cavalry late in the War for Southern Independance. I believe he was captured in the fighting around Selma Ala. He married Rebecca Moore in Calhoun Co. Mississippi. Some of their children were: Bailey Preston Samuel Floyd James Arthur (there were daughters, I just don't their names in front of me right now.) John moved his family to Montgomery Co. Arkansas about 1880 or 1890 and died near Avant or Buckville Ark in the 1920s. If this sounds familiar to you. I can pull more exact and complete information. 3. I have some people of those names in my database, but they don't all fit together. I have 2 John Ws. but it could be John Wesley as easy as it could be John Winfield. I have the other names, but not together and not in the right locations. I don't have all that much about Arkansas because people were moving to Texas at the same time people were moving to Arkansas. They usually didn't do both. My bunch came to Texas. They were here by 1850 so I don't have as much in other states after that time as I do in Texas. They were in Tennessee and Alabama. Usually they came from Georgia and before that, North Carolina. I have a large Mackelroy/various spellings database and am willing to look further if you can get be a group sheet or descendant chart with names, dates, and locations. Your spelling looks a lot like it would belong to our bunch as they had so much varied spelling. I gave up keeping track of the different spellings as it was playing havoc with my index in my database. Trying to find someone I mean. I use Mackelroy for other branches and Muckleroy for mine.
