William John McElroy came to Georgia in the early 1880s and married Esther Freeney and settled in Macon, Bibb County, Georgia. Their daughter Juliette married my great grandfather, William E. Sherwood. William McElroy moved to Georgia from Greene County, New York. He was in the foundry business.
