State of Alabama County of Tuskaloosa On this 15th day of October A.D. one thousand eight hundred and fifty, personally appeared before me, John J. Samuel, a Justice of the Peace duly authorised to administer oaths within and for the County and State aforesaid, William Muckelroy aged eighty-six years, a resident of Tuskaloosa County in the State of Alabama who being duly sworn according to law, declares that, he is the identical William Muckelroy who was a private in the Company commanded by Captian Giles Burdett in the Tennessee Regiment of Volunteers commanded by Col. Williamson in the war with Great Brittain, declared by the United States on the 18th day of June 1812 that he volunteered, in Bedford County, Tennessee, and was mustered at Fayetteville Tenn. On or about the Twenty-eighth day of September A.D. eighteen hundred fourteen for the term of six months and continued in actual service in said war for the term of Seven months and was honorably discharged at Nashville Tenn. On the twenty-eighth day of April A.D. eighteen hundred & fifteen, on account of expiration of term of service as will appear by (he having sold his discharge) the muster rolls of said company. He makes this declaration for the purpose of obtaining the County land to which he may be entitled under the "act granting County land to certain officers and soldiers who have been engaged in the military service of the United States," passed September 28, 1850. William (his mark) Muckelroy (Seal) Sworn to and subscribed before me the day and year above written. And I hereby certify, that I believe the said Mucelroy [sic] to be the identical man who served as aforesaid, and that he is of the age above stated. John J. Samuel (Seal) Justice of the Peace
