I am going through some Johnston Co., NC books and entering deed abstracts, etc. The events form a "time line" for individuals I am interested enough in to go to this trouble. Right now, I am looking at an entry dated 10 Jul 1763 for John Mackelroy (proved William Bryan(t) to Nathaniel Kimbrough to apprentice his son John Bryan). Name is also spelled McIlroy as a witness and Mackelroy as the person "proving" this apprenticeship. My/our ancestor, John Mackelroy I (wife Frances) was still living at this time. I have his death date as after 23 Nov 1765. His sons John and Archibald may have died in the French and Indian War (I have no proof but there was a group of soldiers of Johnston Co. who went to Virginia in this War). At any rate, I have that both John and Archibald died about 1760. Does anyone have anything different? I want to be clear as to which John this information should be added it. Betty
