I want to tell you that my mother, Myrtle Reed Trimm, of Pueblo, Colorado, died last month. She was probably one of the oldest McElroy researchers. She was 104 years, 3 months. At her request, we kept her home while her tired body was just shutting down, with the help of Hospice and my two daughters. She was lucid to the very end, telling us each good-bye with her eyes and then just closed them. I will miss her terribly because we were companions for the last 9 years and always had been close before that. She was a wonderful, kind, Christian lady. She had started doing research on the Reed line 50 years ago, but I thrilled her by finding the Phelps/McElroy connection. We come through Rachel McElroy (Muckleduroy, Muckelroy, etc.) married to Aventon Phelps, to dtr. Abigail who married George Reed. They lived in Rowan Co. NC in mid to late 1700's, from Maryland before that. I will be out of town for a couple of weeks from June 19th, attending the Nat'l. Reed Assoc. Reunion in Corinth, MS.
