My eternal brick wall with the McElroy family lies with these three. Ithey are siblings-Jacob-b. 1813, Farenett-1816, John 1819. I am decended from John. I only know Jacob is his brother because of a tombstone (died in 1874) in the family cemetery that states such. I only know about Farnettt because the Madison Co., GA poor school lists have her(?) name with John's as children to Frances (Fanny) McKelroy. I have never found either sibling on a census-so I don't know where they might have lived--but it was not Madison county..(except for burial in the case of Jacob and school for the case of Farenett) John and Farenett are listed as illegitimate on two of the poor school lists. I would love to know who their father was, and whose child Fanny was. I have John's children and many of their descendants though bu no means all of them and would love to hear from anyone attached to the family. John was married twice once to Susannah Smith (sister to Ferdinand Watson Smith and Henry Smith). Susannah died in 1862. He married Frances Allen before 1865. Any info on either McElroys, Smith or Allens would be greatly appreciated. Stephanie [email protected]
