Records of some of these transactions, and of the background to them, is preserved among the American Loyalist Claims in file PRO: AO 13/36. Folio 829 in the bundle is of more than usual interest, because, unlike others which have been included, it gives an indication of the origin and family circumstances of some of the grantees.
