    3. Waneta, No, I'm not connected to him that I'm aware of...I just collect McElroys. Everywhere, and in any spelling variation. And it's always fun to be able to put one of them in a family context. I have over 12,000 at present from many, many different sources and am always on the lookout for more. I've looked for mine for over twenty years, with no luck, and started collecting all of them about two years ago (and haven't even made a dent, I might add). Did this line originate in Virginia (after immigration) or did they come there from another state? There was an Adam McElroy who married Juelly Dowde on 3 Dec.,1785 in Craven Dist., N.C...Do you know if there is any connection between this Adam and Adam Calhoun? I'd love to have more on this family, if you feel like sending something. And, of course, you're welcome to anything I have that may help you. 3. I have lots and lots and lots of Descendants of John and Francis Mackelroy of Baltimore Co., MD. I don't know how many. If you have a problem identifying some of yours, I'll be glad to have a look at mine. I don't have the McElroy-McCune descendants that I can identify. They mostly seem to be in Pennsylvania, Kentucky and SC and we don't have many there. I think Adam is from the McElroy-McCune (Scotch Irish in America) line. I have had to sort my spelling into 2 versions. Muckleroy - which is the down from Tennessee to Texas version of my direct line and Mackelroy for everyone else regardless of spelling. I can't find them otherwise. I just make a notation as to the spelling - well sometimes I do. I usually know their linage. I might not have them all entered because I'm not sure that they know how it spelled. They are not consistent. David Muckleroy found a John very early (before 1713) in one of the New England States. I think New Hampshire. It was on the LDS IGI . 3. Julie - I have McElroys in my line that are located in Massachusetts. Do you have any McElroys living in Mass (Dorchester and Boston) in the late 1600's on up to the present in your database?
