    3. Waneta, My mcElroys came to East Texas from Kentucky by way of Missouri. The story goes that three brothers left Missouri together ca.1845-50, headed for Texas. I have documented two of them; John W. and William "Will" W.(my 2g.gr.father) both married in Sabine County, Texas and raised families (large ones) here. They are both buried with wives in McElroy Cemetary which is in the Moore Plantation Wildlife Preserve in the Sabine National Forest, Sabine Co.,Texas. As for the third brother, I have only the name...James Addison or Madison McElroy. I have no family info on him at all. He seems to have left the area where his brothers settled and prospered. Between them, at one time, they owned abt. 1600 acres of good farm land. I'd really like to see if we can tie your lines into mine.
