    3. Hi, I'd like to butt in about "the Scotch-Irish McElroys...". I also have a copy of this wonderful book which was originally published in 1901. The Higginson Book Co. has photocopied the book and reprinted it. It may be ordered directly from Higginson Book Co., phone #978/745-7170 or fax #978-745-8025, for a small savings. Available in soft or hard cover. As to your remark about updating...well, I'm the nut who wants to take that on. My mother is a McElroy from East Texas. I am collecting McElroy lines from all over the U.S. . Anyone who is interested in submitting their work (with sources, please) would gladly be credited for their hard work if and when it ever comes to publication. I'm not sure that one person, alone, could accomplish this task as "OUR CLAN" has been very prolific over the generations. 3. I have been researching Robert Greenwood McElroy who was born in Ireland in 1837. Robert's death cert (NY 1901)says his father was Robert McElroy, born in Scotland and his mother was Mattie McElroy, born in England. Robert Greenwood McElroy immigarted to the US in c.1856 and I have been able to track his line from that point forward. This line settled in NJ and Rockland County NYin the 1880-1920's... has anyone seen mention of this line in any of the books that have been mentioned in the past week???
